Where is the gym located?

BLOCK Gym is located within the Royal William Yard in Plymouth. Situated within the Melville Building (the building with the grand clock tower overlooking the marina/ferry port) the gym is accessible within the courtyard as your walk underneath the central archway.

Is car parking included with membership?

Yes, BLOCK members get 90-minutes parking per visit included within their membership. Members can park in any public car parking space within the Royal William Yard and then enter their vehicle registration on a tablet upon entering the gym.

Are classes included in membership?

All Group classes are included within our Lifestyle Membership option, please see the Group Exercise tab for our class timetable and class descriptions.

If you have a Studio membership, then you will not be able to book onto our Gym Floor PT led SGT.

Do you have changing rooms and shower facilities?

Yes, we have Male and Female changing rooms, each with private shower cubicles and toiletries provided. We also have vanity stations with GHD Hair Styling. You would just need to bring a towel, and a padlock for our lockers. (Padlocks can be purchased in our Vending Machine if required).

Can I use the Gym if I have a Studio membership?

No, our Studio membership permits access to Studio based classes only. Access to the facility will be limited to 30-minutes before your class. If you wish to have 24/7 access to use the Gym, or out Personal Trainer led SGT classes, please speak to a member of the team about upgrading your membership to the Lifestyle plan.

What are your opening hours?

The gym is open 24/7 for members, if you need to see a member of the gym team or are a guest and looking to visit the gym, our Staffed Hours are:
Mon-Thurs 07:00-19:00
Fri 07:00-17:00
Sat 08:00-15:00

What is included within the Personal Training Pack?

Our Personal Training Pack is available to new members for an introductory rate of £40 when joining, designed to give you the best member experience and help you on your way to achieving your goals, this includes a Myzone MZ-1 Heart Rate Monitor (RRP: £89.99), a 1-Hour Personal Training Session Voucher (Worth £45), along with a Gym Towel, BLOCK Keyring and Membership Welcome Letter.

Do you offer Personal Training?

We do, whilst Personal Training isn’t included within the monthly cost of your membership, this investment can set you up with the best chances of achieving your personal health and fitness goals.
Our expert Personal Trainers are not just here to count reps and give you a pat on the back, they will educate you, motivate you and professionally guide you from point A to point B, however big or small your targets are.

How do I cancel my membership?

You can cancel your membership by emailing us at gym@blockplymouth.co.uk, we simply ask for 10 days notice from the end of the month. Once received, the team will confirm receipt and inform you if there is another payment due and when your access to the Gym will expire. If notice is received after this 10-day period, memberships will continue through to the following month.
Of course, we want to keep our members happy, engaged and on track with their health and fitness goals, if something is not working for you then please speak to us before cancelling, we’d love to keep you as a member and support you to achieve your personal targets.
We do also have the option to Freeze your membership at no charge, so if you need to temporarily pause your membership for a month, then please speak to us in the gym or drop us an email and we can discuss this option with you.

Can the BLOCK studio space be hired out?

Yes, our studio is available for £30 an hour VAT included. If this was of interest, please reach out to gym@blockplymouth.co.uk with an enquiry and one of our team will assist you.

Please note, relevant risk assessments and insurances will be required prior to Studio useage.

How do I access the Gym?

Once you've joined online as a member, you will need to sign into the ClubRight app as this will generate your unique QR code used to gain entry. As long as you have successfully signed up, when at the Gym, simply scan your QR code against the scanner and the door will unlock.

Reformer Pilates FAQS

How many classes can I attend each month with the Reformer Pilates Membership?

Our monthly rolling Reformer Pilates Membership includes 5 class credits per month, which works out at £15 per class. Credits are valid for 30 days and do not roll over. Unused credits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

When will my payment be taken?

Your Direct Debit will be collected on the same date each month as your original join date. For example, if you join on the 5th of the month, your payment will be taken on the 5th of every month thereafter.

When do my credits renew?

Your monthly credits renew on your membership renewal date and are valid for 30 days. For example, if you join on the 5th of the month, your credits will refresh on the 5th of every month.

Can I cancel my Reformer Pilates Membership?

Yes. We require 10 days’ written notice before your next payment date. Cancellation requests must be sent by email to gym@blockplymouth.co.uk.

If your cancellation request is received within 10 days of your next payment date, one final payment will still be collected and your membership will remain active into the following month.

What membership options are available?

Existing members can purchase Reformer Pilates credits through the in-app shop.

Both current gym members and non-members can also purchase our monthly Reformer Pilates Membership, which includes 5 credits per month.

Does the Reformer Pilates Membership include gym access or other classes?

No. The Reformer Pilates Membership is exclusively for Reformer Pilates classes and includes 5 classes per month.

Access to the facility is permitted from 30 minutes before your scheduled class until 30 minutes after the class has finished.

What types of classes will be available?

We will initially offer 16 classes per week, ranging from beginner to intermediate levels, with a selection of advanced classes also available.

Class descriptions can be found in our members' app to help you choose the right session for your experience level.

How far in advance can I book Reformer Pilates classes?

As with our other membership packages, classes can be booked up to 7 days in advance. Please note that you must have available credits on your account to make a booking.

Will I need to bring anything?

All Pilates equipment required for the class will be provided. However, please ensure you wear grip socks for your own comfort and safety.

Can I book classes as a non-member?

Yes. Non-members can book Reformer Pilates classes, subject to availability. Please note that monthly subscription members have priority booking access and can reserve classes up to 7 days in advance.
